CRO & UX Optimization for an AI Audio Restoration Platform
Overview
CrumplePop is a leading SaaS company specializing in AI-powered audio restoration tools used by creators, podcasters, and filmmakers worldwide. Despite the software’s impressive capabilities, the website struggled to communicate its value clearly and convert visitors into free trial users.
Our goal was to reimagine CrumplePop’s website through a Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) lens, combining UX enhancements with data-driven experimentation to showcase the product’s impact in the most tangible way possible. By integrating interactive elements and optimizing content around user intent, we achieved an 85% increase in free trial conversions.

The Challenge
For a product that sells through proof of performance, one of CrumplePop’s biggest challenges was demonstrating value instantly. Users needed to hear the difference before and after using the AI plugins, but the site’s static layout didn’t allow that.
Additionally, traffic was limited, with roughly 300 monthly visitors, and the website lacked the interactive experiences that competitors were using to show real-time product results. The goal was to:
- Enhance trial conversions by fostering stronger engagement and demonstrating tangible results.
- Build a scalable content engine that continuously attracts high-intent traffic.
- Reinforce product credibility through intuitive UX and A/B-tested design improvements.
Approach
We began by conducting a detailed competitor analysis, mapping how similar SaaS and creative software brands used interactivity to build trust. The findings were clear: industry leaders used before-and-after audio widgets, interactive demos, and sample previews to convey real-world results.
Armed with that insight, we developed and tested multiple solutions using a CRO framework that combined design, experimentation, and behavioral analytics:
Before/After Audio Widget
- Created an interactive toggle feature that allowed users to hear the “before” and “after” of each plugin in real time.
- Initially placed on the homepage and product pages.
- Heatmap analysis via Hotjar revealed that the widget generated thousands of clicks within days, confirming strong engagement.

Content-Driven CRO
- Launched a blog strategy built around user pain points (e.g., removing wind noise, echo, or background hum).
- Produced 100+ SEO-focused articles directly tied to the brand’s plugins and their use cases.
- Within months, organic traffic grew from 300 users/month to over 70,000 users/month, driven by educational, conversion-oriented content.
- Widget Expansion & A/B Testing
- Designed new horizontal widget variations for use in blog posts:
- Plugin-specific widgets: showing a single product’s before/after result for contextual use (e.g., the “Wind Remover” demo inside articles about windy recordings).
- Multi-plugin slider widget: showcasing all popular plugins in sequence, allowing users to test each one in a single experience.
- Plugin-specific widgets: showing a single product’s before/after result for contextual use (e.g., the “Wind Remover” demo inside articles about windy recordings).
- These widgets underwent A/B testing to measure engagement, dwell time, and trial downloads. The multi-plugin slider alone reached up to 12,000 plays per day at its peak.
- Designed new horizontal widget variations for use in blog posts:

The combination of UX innovation, content strategy, and iterative testing produced measurable growth:
